Jobs is MarketWatch Readers Choice CEO of the Year for 2007
In an overwhelming vote readers of MarketWatch has named Steve Jobs as the Readers Choice CEO of the Year for 2007. Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 and has since brought glory to the company several times. The most notable of which is his second run as Apple’s CEO. Coming back after being ousted. Jobs took the once thought doomed company back to being one of the admired tech companies in the world. Apple now enjoys unprecedented success, never before seen in its history.
Other nominees for the award were Eric Schmidt of Google, Mark Hurd of Hewlett Packard, John Chambers of Cisco and Steve Ballmer of Microsoft.
My personal take on this? Jobs truly deserves the award. One can not take away the fact that Apple is at its highest point ever in its history. It’s also showing no signs of going anywhere but up. This can be attributed to Steve Jobs’ leadership. He brought back innovation to Apple with its massively popular iPod. The revitalized Macs, OS X and of course one can’t forget the iPhone.
There is no other CEO in mind that shares the same charisma and popularity of Jobs. He has the ability to inspire his people into coming out with great products year in and year out. For that he deserves the recognition.
